Catch up!
Once again, I am awful at posting! Life has been crazy busy lately! In the past two months, I have been running from one thing to the next. Here are some of the highlights....
*July Lake Powell trip with my family, cousins, and some family friends. It was possibly the hottest trip ever...I felt like I was going to roast the entire time. Some highlights included awesome skiing, wakeboarding, two skiin' it, tubing, kneeboarding, swimming, marble games, and so much more!
*Two days after getting back from Powell, I started my new job at the Cancer Clinic. I am amazed at how much I am truly beginning to love it. I love most of the patients I am working with, they are so grateful for the care we give. I am learning so much about a world I had no idea about. I feel like I'm really beginning to "get it", which is always a good sign. Between working full time at the clinic and one or two shifts a week in the ER, I am working a lot. However, after having a break from the ER, it's always nice to go "home" and I actually enjoy working there again. There's nothing like a good trauma and some adreniline.
*My domestic side is coming out...I have had so much fun decorating my house and also getting ready for fall! I have been making baby blankets for several of my friends who have had babies recently. It has been fun to learn something new!
*Three weeks after getting back from Powell, I was lucky enough to go again! I went with Ben, Joe, Livvy, and some other friends. We camped on the beach in Warm Creek and had a blast skiing, boarding, kneeboarding, and so much more! Lots of fun memories and many inside jokes!
*A few weeks ago I got a new calling, which is Education Counselor in my ward's Relief Society Presidency. I'm super excited for this calling, as it is something I haven't ever done before and will hopefully be able to learn a lot and serve the ladies in my ward! And I'm a bit scared too...
*I also started school again through BYU-Idaho online. I am busy taking 4 full time classes, as well as an Independent Study class through BYU. I'm hoping I will somehow survive this busy semester! I have lots of clinicals, papers, and projects to do.
*I have also been having a few procedures done to removed and fix vericose veins....embarrassing at 24, I know. But I can't say what a difference these procedures have made. Wow! Not only are these ugly veins gone, but my feet and legs actually feel a 90% better! I come home from working a 10-12 hour day and my feet don't ache. It's great! I have hopefully just one to two more procedures left and then I'm done. Yee-haw!
*I have also decided to get down and really get in shape and lose some weight. It always sucks to realize you aren't where you want to be. However, for the past 2 weeks I have rededicated myself to Weight Watchers and feel so much better because I'm eating better. I also decided to resign up for the gym, and am now working with a personal trainer every week. Raleigh is awesome...I'm learning lots of new things and loving it for a change!
*My family is also growing up...which is totally crazy! It's so fun to have Ben in Provo...we have done a lot of stuff together and with friends. I usually see him once or twice a week (when he comes to do laundry at my house, hanging out, sunday dinners, etc.). Katie is growing up and up at BYU-I and loving it....I can't believe she is so old! It makes me feel like an old woman! And of course, Drew and my parents are still at home and as busy as ever.
*Well, sorry about the long post but it was long over due!
