Back from Kaua'i!
Well, I got home from our AMAZING trip to Kaua'i last week! It was even better than I could have dreamed! I have to say that I loved Kauai more than Oahu, because it was less touristy and more like the Hawaii you see in pictures! We had so much fun, and ran ourselves ragged all day! By the time we got home at night, we were exhausted! The first 3 1/2 days were rainy, but then beautiful for the rest of the week. And it sure didn't stop us, except we couldn't do the 8 mile hike down the Na Pali coast because it was too muddy! We did so many fun things! We kayaked up the Wailua River, hiked to a waterfall and swam underneath it, kayaked to a rope swing and jumped off it. We did a bunch of 500-800 feet ziplines, hiked a bit inbetween through muddy cow pastures, swam in another waterfall. We did a lot of snorkeling and saw so many beautiful, tropical fish. I can't wait to see how our underwater pics turned out! We surfed in Hanelei Bay, which was one of my favorite things once I got the hang of it! We went to a magical little spot that had a waterfall we jumped off, and then climbed up a ladder and jumped off a 25-30 foot rope swing. We took a boat tour up the Na Pali coast to look at the beautiful scenery you can only access by boat or helicopter and saw whales, dolphins, and lots of fish! We played at the beach, swam with monk seals and sea turtles. Ate lots of yummy fresh fish and other awesome food, ate shave ice with mac nut ice cream, went to the shrimp station. We went up to Waimea Canyon, which is the "Grand Canyon" of the Pacific. It was so fun to catch some rays, have 2 weeks off of work, and spend time with the fam'! Here are some pics....
